Choosing a flexible packaging supplier in the EU comes down to three questions: can the structure protect your product, can the converter document food-contact compliance and support your PPWR requirements, and can they reproduce the agreed specification consistently from lot to lot? This page shows how we address all three, from material selection to the finished pouch or machine-ready rollstock.
Materials
Materials and barrier structures
The material determines the packaging’s barrier level, the required shelf life, the conversion process and the recyclability of the structure. There is no universal film: the same material performs differently in different laminated structures, so we select it based on product sensitivity, the packing process and your recyclability targets. Each barrier layer maps to a shelf-life outcome: EVOH and metallised layers control oxygen transmission (OTR) for coffee and pet food, PE seal layers control moisture (WVTR) for powders and baked goods, and the complete laminate determines how long the packed product stays protected.
Monomaterial
Mono-material PE
Predominantly PE-based structures with high sealability, designed to support NIR identification and compatibility with the PE recycling stream.
Monomaterial
Mono-material PP
Predominantly PP-based BOPP/CPP structures combining stiffness, clarity and heat resistance, designed to support compatibility with the PP recycling stream.
Multimaterial
PET/PE laminates
Duplex laminates designed to reduce oxygen (OTR) and water vapour (WVTR) transmission for sensitive products.
Construction
Multilayer laminated structures
Duplex and triplex builds tuned for mechanical strength, sealability and barrier where the application demands it.
Production
Conversion technologies
Your packaging is produced through our conversion process: lamination, slitting and bag conversion are managed on our own production lines, printing is executed to your project specification, and quality control runs throughout the process, with material documentation available for each structure.

Solventless lamination
Duplex and triplex structures bonded with solventless adhesive technology, for food and non-food applications.
Printing up to 8 colours
Accurate colour reproduction in 1 to 8 colours, matched to your artwork and maintained across repeat production runs.
Slitting and converting
Film slit to your machine’s working width and converted into doypack, quad seal and zipper formats, to the dimensions agreed during technical review.
Micro and macroperforation
Controlled ventilation for fresh produce and other applications, configured according to the application and project specification.
Quality control and testing
Seal integrity and mechanical properties verified on every production lot before dispatch, with traceability per lot.
Technical consultation before quoting
Structure, dimensions and format defined with our technical team against your product and packing line, before you commit to an order.
Our brands
Our registered trademarks
Six trademarks registered at EUIPO cover the VLM Poliplast portfolio, built around two directions: mono-material structures designed for recycling, and high-barrier laminates for sensitive products. EcoMono® is the umbrella mark for mono-material raw materials and finished products, EcoMonoFilm® is the film range beneath it, and BarrierFlex® covers the barrier laminates.
EU registered trademark
EcoMonoFilm®
One Material. One Future.®
A mono-material line based on PE/PE and BOPP/CPP structures designed to support NIR sorting, while maintaining the barrier, sealing and mechanical performance required by the application.
EU registered trademark
BarrierFlex®
Protection for sensitive products
The high-barrier laminate line, with EVOH, metallised or PET layers for improved oxygen (OTR) and water vapour (WVTR) barrier on sensitive products.
Applications
Industries we serve
Buyers usually come to us with an application, not a material. These industry guides show which structures work for each product category and what EU brands in that category typically order. We also develop project-specific packaging for fresh produce, bulk ice, seeds and automotive components.
Coffee and tea
High-barrier pouches with degassing valve options, for roasters selling across EU markets.
Pet food
Grease-resistant structures for dry and wet pet food, from sample pouches to large-format bags.
Food supplements
Moisture-barrier structures for powders and capsules, with food-contact documentation under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.
Bakery and pastry
Display-ready printed packaging for baked goods, in laminated or perforated variants.
Fishing bait and groundbait
A niche we know well: barrier pouches and printed bags for bait and groundbait brands.
Products
What we deliver
At VLM Poliplast, laminated structures become finished products matched to your product, packing method and machinery. We supply packaging in two formats: converted bags ready to fill, and rollstock films for automated packing lines.
Pouches
Stand-up doypack, quad seal, zipper, vacuum and flowpack pouches, in laminated or mono-material structures, for products that need shelf presence and barrier.
Poly bags
LDPE bags, HDPE bags on roll, adhesive-flap bags and courier mailers, made to custom sizes for general packing and e-commerce shipping.
Packaging film
Rollstock slit to your machine width for VFFS and HFFS automated lines, in barrier, mono-material or CPP structures, suited to high-volume packing.
Sourcing
Comparing sourcing routes for flexible packaging
Brands sourcing in Europe weigh lead times, EU regulatory compliance, customs exposure and supply-chain risk. Our guides start with the sourcing model itself, manufacturing inside the Union against manufacturing outside it, and then put Romania side by side with the region’s main converting countries, on facts a purchasing team can verify.
Not sure which structure fits your product?
Send the product, the target shelf life and the line it is packed on. We come back with the structure, together with the technical data sheet and the Declaration of Conformity.
Regulation
Sustainability and PPWR compliance
If you place packaged products on the EU market, Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) becomes part of your packaging specification: recyclability criteria, recycled-content thresholds and the PFAS restriction all need to be considered in the packaging brief. We help brands move from multilayer laminates to mono-material structures where the product’s barrier requirements make the transition viable, and we provide the available material documentation and, where applicable, a technical recyclability assessment for each delivered structure.
Company
Why brands source from VLM Poliplast
A European family-owned converter focused on project-specific structures rather than standard catalogue formats: over 18 years of flexible packaging conversion in Romania, the Annex VII technical documentation that Article 16 of the PPWR obliges a supplier established in the Union to provide, short EU supply chains instead of long-haul imports, and technical support throughout structure selection and order development.
