Printed polythene bags: custom LDPE bags for food and retail
Printed polythene bags are LDPE bags printed with a brand or product design, used to pack, group and present goods. The film is soft and flexible, supplied clear or coloured, flat or gusseted, in the size and thickness the product needs.
VLM Poliplast converts and prints polythene bags in-house in Romania, from plain clear LDPE bags to full-surface printed bags with a hanging hole, vent holes or a banana handle, in gauges from 25 µm upwards.
These are packaging bags for products, not retail carrier bags and not household bin liners. Food-contact structures ship with a declaration of compliance to Reg. (EC) 1935/2004 and (EU) 10/2011.
The short answer: clear LDPE packs and protects; print turns the same bag into shelf presence. Choose flat for simple packing, gusseted for volume, vent holes for fresh produce and UV-protected film for outdoor storage.

What is the difference between polythene and polypropylene bags?
Polythene (LDPE) is soft, flexible and slightly hazy, the workhorse for general packing and food bags. Polypropylene (BOPP) is stiffer and glass-clear, better for display packaging with a premium printed finish. Many ranges use both, for different products.
Can polythene bags be food-safe?
Yes, for structures declared for food contact, delivered with a declaration of compliance to Reg. (EC) 1935/2004 and (EU) 10/2011. LDPE handles fridge and freezer temperatures well, but it is not suited to heat.
What sizes and thicknesses are available?
