Packaging films by application
Film structures are selected by product sensitivity, filling process and required shelf life. The pages below cover the sectors we supply most often; the full list is on the industries overview.
Coffee packaging film
High-barrier and mono-material structures with degassing options for whole bean and ground coffee.
Supplement packaging film
Barrier and mono-material films for powders, capsules and supplements in sachets and stick packs.
Pet food film
Durable barrier structures for dry and moist pet food, on flow wrap and VFFS lines.
Fishing bait packaging film
Tough, resealable barrier films for baits, groundbait and pellets.
Bakery & pastry film
Clear and printed films for bread, pastry and baked goods, including breathable options.
Packaging films by material
Each film family is available as rollstock, printed and laminated to your specification. Laminated film combines a barrier and a print quality that a single web cannot reach, which is why high-spec packs usually run on it. The material pages below hold the full technical detail.
Laminated film
Duplex and triplex structures by solvent-free lamination. Barrier, mechanical strength, a reliable seal layer and premium print, for coffee, dry products and snacks with fats.
BOPP film
High clarity and stiffness at speed, as the printed outer web for snacks and bakery. Transparent, gloss, matte, pearlised, metallised or white.
Polyethylene (PE) film
Flexible, easy to seal and designed for the PE recycling stream. For frozen, heavy products and bags. Transparent, mass-coloured or printed.
Barrier film
Oxygen and moisture barrier from EVOH or metallised structures, extending shelf life for coffee and products sensitive to oxidation. Barrier level is documented per structure.
CPP film
Cast polypropylene inner seal layer for BOPP/CPP laminates, sealing at low temperatures. Transparent, white or metallised, printed.
Perforated film
Macroperforated and microperforated film for fresh produce that needs to breathe, tuned to respiration and moisture balance.
Lidding film
The film that closes sealed PP trays: weld or peelable opening, with anti-fog and perforation options for fresh produce and ready meals.
Mono-material film
All-PE or all-PP structures designed for recycling, replacing mixed laminates such as PET/PE. EcoMonoFilm® for snacks, coffee and dry products.
Switching to recyclable structures for the PPWR?
We convert mixed laminates such as PET/PE into all-PE and all-PP equivalents designed for the PPWR recyclability requirements, validated with a sample run on your own line. Read what Regulation (EU) 2025/40 requires, and download the free PPWR Declaration of Conformity templates your customers will start asking for.
Packaging films by machine
We supply rollstock configured to your line format. Send the machine parameters (web width, roll and core diameter, unwind, sealing range) and we match the film. Film thickness is specified in microns (µm); the minimum depends on the film family: from 15 microns for BOPP, from 20 for CPP, polyethylene and mono-material, from 25 for laminated structures and from 30 for EVOH barrier structures. Each minimum is confirmed on the data sheet for the structure ordered. If the format itself is still open, the trade-off between a pack formed on your line or delivered already converted is set out in a separate comparison.
Flow wrap / Flow Pack (HFFS)
Horizontal flow wrap film for snacks, bakery and bars, with clarity and stiffness for high speed.
VFFS film
Vertical form-fill-seal film for granules, powders and frozen products, with reliable vertical and cross seals.
FFS rollstock
Form-fill-seal rollstock matched to your sealing window and format, for automated lines of any output.
What we can do for your packaging
Most enquiries start from an existing structure or a technical brief. Typical projects we take on:
| You need to | How we help |
| Reproduce your current film | We match your existing structure and print, from a sample or spec. |
| Improve or replace a laminate | Swap mixed laminates (e.g. PET/PE) for mono-material designed for recycling, where the product allows. |
| Reduce cost or thickness | Downgauge and optimise the structure without losing barrier or seal integrity. |
| Print from your artwork | Flexo printing up to 8 colours plus Pantone, from your artwork. |
| Buy film only, not pouches | Rollstock supply for your own lines, configured to your reel spec. |
| Meet recycled content targets | Structures aligned with the PPWR recycled content thresholds for 2030 and 2040. |
| Validate before production | Samples and validation rolls, with food-contact declarations and data sheets. |
Packaging film comparison
A quick reference for structure selection. Every family is printable 1-8 colours; the material pages hold the full OTR, WVTR and sealing data, documented per structure.
| Film | Material | Best for | Barrier | Recyclability |
| Laminated | Multilayer | Coffee, dry products, high-spec packs | Medium to high | Depends on structure |
| BOPP | PP | Snacks, bakery, dry products | Low to medium | PP stream* |
| PE | PE | Frozen, heavy products, bags | Low | PE stream* |
| Barrier | EVOH / metallised | Coffee, oxidation-sensitive products | High | Depends on structure |
| CPP | Cast PP | Inner seal layer, low-temp sealing | Low | PP stream* |
| Mono-material | PE/PE or PP/PP | Snack, coffee and dry packs designed for recycling | Low to medium | Single polymer |
| Perforated | PE or BOPP | Fresh fruit and vegetables | Ventilation, not barrier | Stream of the base film |
* A film is designed for a recycling stream only while the whole structure stays in one polymer family: BOPP and CPP for the PP stream, polyethylene for the PE stream. A mixed PP plus PE structure, such as BOPP/LDPE, cannot be classified into a single recycling stream. Real recyclability depends on the whole pack: inks, adhesives, lacquers, metallisation and thickness.
Why companies switch packaging film suppliers
Most of the enquiries we receive do not start from a price list. They start from a problem the current film keeps causing:
Seals that fail or scorch inconsistently on the line. Film that curls or mistracks at speed. Scrap rates that keep climbing with every shift.
A barrier too low for the shelf life the retailer demands. Imported film that is hard to validate and document for EU food contact. A new requirement for recyclable structures that the current supplier cannot meet.
If any of these sound familiar, send the datasheet of the film you run today and your line parameters. We check the structure against your machine and product, and propose the correction, quoted side by side with what you buy now. Start with the datasheet.
Frequently asked questions
What determines the minimum order quantity for packaging film?
The minimum order quantity is determined by the print run and the structure. Printed film carries a setup for each design, so its minimum run is higher than for unprinted film, and laminated structures add a lamination run on top. That is why the MOQ is confirmed at quotation, for the exact structure, width and number of colours requested.
What artwork files do you need for printed film?
We need print-ready vector files, ideally PDF or AI with fonts converted to outlines, laid out on the reel format we confirm together. We check the files against the format and the number of colours before anything is printed, and you approve the final layout before the run.
Do you produce private label film for distributors and importers?
Yes, we produce private label film for distributors and importers. We print your brand, not ours, on any structure in the range, with the paperwork issued for your project so your customers see one consistent supplier: you.
How long does it take to go from sample to series production?
The time from sample to series production is set by validation on your machine. Once the trial roll runs cleanly on your line and you approve it, the configuration is frozen and series production follows on the schedule agreed at quotation.
Is your packaging film PFAS free?
Yes, our packaging film is PFAS free. The structures contain no intentionally added PFAS, in line with Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40, and this is supported both by declarations from our material suppliers and by our own analyses, which we provide on request. The restriction and its deadlines are explained on our PFAS in food packaging page.
Which packaging film is recyclable?
A mono-material film built from a single polymer family, all PE or all PP, is designed for a single recycling stream and replaces mixed laminates such as PET/PE where the product allows. Recyclability is assessed on the complete pack and declared per ordered structure. See mono-material structures.
